chicken seek kabab
Here’s a delicious Chicken Seekh Kebab recipe that you can easily make at home:
Ingredients:
500g minced chicken (with some fat for juiciness)
1 small onion (finely chopped or grated)
2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
2 green chilies (finely chopped)
¼ cup coriander leaves (chopped)
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin powder
1 tsp coriander powder
½ tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
½ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp black pepper powder
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp gram flour (besan), roasted
1 tbsp ghee or butter (for extra flavor)
Salt to taste
Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Mixture
1. In a large bowl, mix the minced chicken with all the spices, herbs, gram flour, and lemon juice.
2. Knead the mixture well so that everything combines evenly.
3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help the flavors blend and make it easier to shape.
2. Shape the Kebabs
1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
2. Take a portion of the chicken mixture and mold it around the skewers, pressing gently to form long kebabs.
3. Make sure they are evenly shaped for proper cooking.
3. Cooking Methods
Option 1: Tandoor or Grill
Preheat your tandoor or grill to medium heat.
Brush the kebabs with a little oil and grill for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally until they are golden brown and cooked through.
Option 2: Oven
Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
Place the kebabs on a greased baking tray and bake for 15-20 minutes, turning once in between.
Broil for the last 2-3 minutes to get a charred effect.
Option 3: Pan-Fry
Heat a grill pan or tawa with a little oil.
Cook the kebabs on medium heat, turning them every few minutes, until they are fully cooked and have a nice golden-brown color.
4. Serve
Serve hot with green chutney, lemon wedges, and onion rings.
Enjoy with naan, paratha, or as a snack with mint yogurt dip!
