Shawarma Rolls
Here’s a simple and tasty Shawarma Roll recipe you can try at home:
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
- 500g boneless chicken (thigh or breast), thinly sliced
- 3 tbsp curd/yogurt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
For the Sauce:
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp hung curd or Greek yogurt
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- Salt & pepper to taste
Other:
- 4 pita breads/rumali rotis/tortilla wraps
- Sliced onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce (as per taste)
- Pickled veggies (optional)
Instructions:

Marinate the Chicken
- Mix all marinade ingredients and coat the chicken well.
- Let it rest for at least 1 hour (overnight is best).

Cook the Chicken
- Heat some oil in a pan. Cook the chicken on medium-high heat until nicely charred and fully cooked.

Prepare the Garlic Sauce
- Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Adjust seasoning.

Assemble the Roll
- Warm the bread on a tawa or in a microwave.
- Spread some garlic sauce on it.
- Add cooked chicken pieces.
- Top with sliced veggies and a little more sauce.
- Roll it up tight and serve hot.
